The Kelvin Grove Urban Village site has a rich and varied history, including its Indigenous, military, educational, residential and natural history. The Sharing Stories project has been developed to inform the community on the Village's history.
Digital Stories are short, personally narrated multimedia tales. In a workshop run by specialist trainers from the Creative Industries Faculty at QUT, people from a wide range of age groups and experience levels worked together to produce digital stories related to the history of the Kelvin Grove Urban Village area.
Students from the discipline of Visual Arts can contribute to the Kelvin Grove Urban Village project, Sharing Stories, by submitting site specific work online.
Images taken by and featuring local residents, as well as photographs capturing the military and educational history of the site, through to its current development.
Sharing Stories is an opportunity for Creative Industries students to engage in historical research and publish their stories about the Village.
Over three days, more than 200 Year 8 students from Kelvin Grove State College completed The Zone - a 'rich task' assignment which involved designing a stimulating, technologically innovative, inclusive, creative and relaxing community space for the Kelvin Grove Urban Village.
